Please join us at the Garden City Community Centre on Friday, July 21st, from 6-9pm, for our first annual Hoopfest, a fun and inclusive 3×3 wheelchair basketball tournament. Our event will not only give you and your organization positive local exposure, it will also provide an excellent opportunity for your organization to further its Inclusion, Diversity and Equity goals. All while raising much-needed funds that will support young Manitoba athletes to be active, included and empowered!
Enter a team into our tournament, and we’ll provide you with a lot of fun and a great team-building experience. All you have to do is supply the team of 3-5 people and we supply the wheelchairs. Ask anyone who’s tried it; playing basketball while in a sports wheelchair is an eye-opening experience!
Did you know that wheelchair basketball is the only high-profile international sport that allows people with physical disabilities and people without physical disabilities to compete with each other on the same teams, on the same court, at the same time?
Hoopfest is the opening act for the weekend-long Summer Slam event, which is also hosted by Basketball Manitoba, the Winnipeg Sea Bears, and the Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association.
If you would like your organization to take part in changing the lives of Manitoba youth with disabilities for many years to come, please consider registering a team for our event.
For more information on Hoopfest and how to take part, please check out our Team Registration Packages, which are available on the links below.
