New Public Health Orders Close Programming

Posted on May 07, 2021

The Province of Manitoba has announced sweeping new public health orders which will come into effect at 12:01 on May 9, 2021. In these orders is the requirement for all indoor sport programming to close, and for outdoor sport programs to have no more than five people participating.

Given the seriousness of our current public health situation, MWSA is once again in the position to suspend all of our programming effective immediately on May 7, 2021. We have had only a month to enjoy each other’s company in a limited capacity, however, the health and safety of our community is paramount and we are understanding of the reasoning for the new health measures.

The new public health orders will be in place for three weeks, or until the end of May. While it could be likely that these orders will be extended, we will remain ready to resume sport once again. Manitoba has been through this twice before, and we are hopeful that our province will be able to return sooner than later.

We encourage everyone to remain physically active as best they can while ensuring their safety and the safety of their community. Please feel free to reach out to our office by email or to your coach if you need any help.
