From Law to Murderball, Peter Tonge to become next Executive Director of MWSA

Posted on July 16, 2021

MWSA is sad to announce the planned departure of Samuel Unrau from his role as Executive Director of MWSA. After 5 years working with MWSA, he departs MWSA to take on new challenges.

“It’s been a fun 5 years working in an area I’m passionate in – accessible sport. There’s been some amazing changes for our organization and for sport as a whole, and the growth in capacity in our programs has been wonderful”.

Sam leaves the organization in good financial health, along with new and renewed assets to help grow our programs for years to come.

At the last MWSA Board Meeting, the Board of Directors has decided to hire Peter Tonge as the new Executive Director of MWSA. MWSA is excited by the wealth of knowledge and experience that Peter brings to the organization, and is confident he will be able to continue to lead the growth and expansion of MWSA.

“I have been a fan and supporter of wheelchair sports for many years. I look forward to continuing to grow the programs at MWSA,” said Peter Tonge

Peter will officially start his position on August 3, 2021 and can be reached at office@mwsa.ca starting on that date.

MWSA is looking to hire a part-time program coordinator for the organization. Applications will be accepted until August 6, 2021 at hiring@mwsa.ca. To find the detailed job posting, please click the ;link below.
